Coleen Rooney, partner to Wayne, gave birth to 8lbs 2oz son Kai yesterday afternoon after being a week overdue.
The birth of their new baby boy took place at Liverpool's Women's hospital at 2:20pm.
Both mother and child are said to be 'absolutely fine' according to a spokesperson for the Rooney's yesterday.
Kai will take his father's name as his middle name, which Wayne's grandmother is 'thrilled' about. She also said they are all overjoyed at the news: "We're all over the moon. Wayne and his mum Jeanette popped round earlier today to give me the news."
The birth of Kai comes just 17 months after the childhood sweethearts married on the Italian island of Portofino.
